Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine School of Clinical Medicine (to commence in September for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
Applicants should have a bachelors or masters degree in biological or medical sciences life sciences computer science mathematics statistics public health or a related discipline. An interest in big data analytics for clinically oriented translational research is essential. Prior experience with statistical analysis bioinformatics programming (R Python) healthcare data systems e.g. Electronic Health Records (EHR) and/or Clinical Data Analysis and Reporting System (CDARS) will be an advantage. Applicants should be organized independent self-motivated detail-oriented eager to learn new methodologies responsible able to work both independently and in a team fluent in written and spoken English and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
The appointee will conduct big data research under the supervision of Dr. Brian Chung. This role offers exceptional opportunities to develop expertise in health informatics bioinformatics analysis next-generation sequencing and integrative omics approaches for precision medicine applications.
Successful candidates will build a strong foundation in essential health data science and genomics research skills while contributing to high-impact studies with prospects to co-author publications and present findings at international conferences. The position fosters career advancement through mentorship in experimental design data interpretation and translational applications of big data discoveries in genomics research.
