About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Department of Culture Recreation and Tourism (CRT) is to preserve and enhance Louisianas unique heritage and natural landscape provide cultural informational and recreational resources and promote the use of these resources by both residents and visitors.This positions function is enforce litter laws statewide and to process litter citations by mail or in person.
Minimum Qualifications
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.
This position may require the incumbent to handle and carry firearms.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
This position will be required to enforce litter laws statewide; to enforce the provisions of R.S. 30:2531 by adjudicatory hearings; to process for litter citations by mail or in person. This position is located in Baton Rouge LA and will require statewide travel.- Promulgate and enforce the rules and regulations necessary to carry out R.S. 56:1688.1
- Serve as the departments lead litter enforcement officer by developing a comprehensive enforcement plan with strategies coordinates the maintenance of the mobile app cultivate and educate DAs attend and present at DA Sheriff Assoc. meetings and conference.
- Protects sites through the enforcement of all applicable laws.
- Conducts investigation of incidents and complaints to include but not limited to litter enforcement that occur within the site boundaries.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: State Parks Headquarters in Baton Rouge LA
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Ranger 1 2 or Specialist depending on qualifications
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 with overtime required as needed.
Travel: Position will be required to travel statewide to state parks and historic sites as needed.
Compensation: $17.36/hour
