The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF)Program Management and Administrationis looking for a Budget Analyst 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!



What you will be doing:
This position serves as one of two Capital Budget Analysts for the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) managing over 1300 Capital Appropriations with a budget in excess of $1.1 billion. This position provides advanced technical and analytical budget support for multiple programs; works in conjunction with the department Budget Manager and Operating Budget Analysts; and advises the Commissioner Deputy Commissioner Division Directors project control project managers and legislative staff on the status of capital appropriations funding requests capital budget development and future funding needs. The incumbent prepares and submits the annual capital budget in excess of $1B and is the Statewide transportation multi-modal expert specializing in state transportation fund allocations.

Our office in Juneau is located at 3132 Channel Drive a few minutes walk to the DIPAC Ladd Macaulay Salmon Hatchery a central location with plenty of parking and a view of the channel. Telework options are available.

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this position the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

One year of full-working professional level experience analyzing and reviewing budgetary data and information; preparing analysis reports and recommendations on budgetary information; and utilizing electronic information management systems. This is met by service as a Budget Analyst 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
Two years of full-working level professional experience in accounting or auditing; financial management budget analysis management or projection/forecasting budget legislation or policy analysis; economic or management analysis and projection; or conducting research analysis and interpretation of economic budgetary and fiscal information and making presentations and recommendations on results to management.
OR
Two years of experience as a business executive or manager establishing and implementing policies goals objectives and procedures; conferring with board members organization officials and staff members; directing and coordinating an organizations activities to fund operations maximize investments and increase efficiency; and reviewing reports such as financial statements sales and activity reports; and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
