Job Description: The Frame Shop Technician is responsible for the fabrication assembly finishing and inspection of frames according to detailed specifications and quality standards. This position requires expertise in operating manufacturing equipment interpreting technical drawings and adapting to diverse project requirements. The technician collaborates with fellow shop members and supervisors to ensure timely completion and delivery of high-quality products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and Assembly
- Read and interpret blueprints schematics and work orders to determine frame dimensions materials and construction methods.
- Measure cut and shape materials including wood metal and composites using saws routers lasers and other specialized tools.
- Assemble frame components using adhesives fasteners welding or joinery techniques as appropriate to the material and design.
- Perform precise fitting alignment and adjustment to ensure tight joints and optimal structural integrity.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in measuring cutting and assembling materials with attention to detail.
- Experienced with hand tools (hammers chisels clamps) power tools (saws drills sanders) and specialized equipment (welders CNC routers laser cutters).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic understanding of material propertieswood metals plastics compositesand their appropriate applications.
Educational Qualifications
- Vocational training or coursework in woodworking metal fabrication or industrial technology preferred.
- One to two years of manufacturing assembly or fabrication experience preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with demonstrated skills and enthusiasm are encouraged to apply.
- Regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting of heavier loads may be necessary.
- Standing for most shifts; ability to move between workstations as needed.
