Pay:$25/hour DOE
Shift:MondayFriday 5:00 AM 3:30 PM (Overtime and weekend work as needed based on production)

Position Summary
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a skilledRefractory Technicianto join our Collinsville team. This position is vital in supporting CNC plasma table operations within our structural fabrication facility. TheRefractory Technicianwill assist in handling preparing and post-processing large steel plates ensuring accurate cuts and proper material flow for cooler frame and header fabrication. This is a hands-on fast-paced role in a heavy industrial environment where attention to detail and safety are essential.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Safelyoperate cement mixersunder supervision.
- Maintaintight tolerances according to blueprints.
- Participate ininsulation installationlayout and trim cutting tinmounting of signscaulking for finish work andpaint preparation.
- Assist team members with job completion as directed by the departmental lead.
- Read and interpretmachining blueprintsand maintain all relatedtooling and equipment.
- Maintain aneat and organized shopfollowing 5S principles.
- Adhere to company guidelines toensure a safe work environmentand follow all safety policies.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
TheRefractory Technicianmust also support insulation concrete mixing and refractory work while collaborating closely with welders and fabricators to ensure production goals are met.
Education and Experience Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability towork overtime and weekendsas production demands.
- Proficient inreading and interpreting machining blueprints.
- Ability to use and interpretmeasuring devices(calipers micrometers measuring tapes).
- Skilled in using varioushand tools both powered and manual.
Qualifications
- Must haverefractory experience.
- Must havecement mixer and concrete experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort usingtools and equipment.
- Team-oriented dependable and safety-focused.
- Willing to work withcompressed air cleaning hydraulic toolsand assist in inspections.
ARefractory Technicianin this role will be expected to demonstrate strong reliability adaptability and the ability to work safely in a heavy industrial setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability tostand for 10 hours per dayand operate a variety of powered and manual hand tools.
- Frequentstanding walking stooping and kneelingthroughout the workday.
- Must have sufficientvisual acuity and depth perceptionfor job tasks.
- Able to tolerate ashop environment with confined space entry and industrial boiler manufacturing exposuresand use appropriate safety equipment when required.
- Ability tolift and maneuver 50 lbs unassistedusing proper safety techniques and/or equipment.
