Overview
As the only not-for-profit faith-based healthcare system in the area Dignity Health Nevada guided by the Adrian Dominican Sisters vision for over 70 years continues to serve the Henderson and Las Vegas communities. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Provides individual personalized nutrition consultation to high-risk WIC clients focusing specifically on behavior changes to improve nutrition and physical activity habits of the individual or the entire family.
- Assesses clients for medical and social needs and refers to St. Rose or other community organizations as appropriate.
- Maintains accurate and comprehensive charts on all high-risk WIC clients by completing the service documentation forms progress notes nutrition care plans database entry and any other documentation source required by the State of Nevada or St. Rose.
- Provides individual nutrition counseling for additional health issues as needed.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective teaching/facilitation methods to large and small groups utilizing a variety of tools for a variety of nutrition topics as identified by St. Rose.
- Develop administer and evaluate community health education curriculum and programs for individuals andgroups to address relevant health concerns for various populations in need based on the St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Community Health & Needs Assessment.
- Maintains accurate confidential records for clients participating in programs and attendance/participation records.
- Lead for clinic staff including interns CPAs and clerks
- Precepts RD interns from UNR and UNLV
- Serves as clinical preceptor for WIC Eligibility Workers by providing nutrition education and guidance.
- Actively works to integrate clients with other St. Rose community outreach programs.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors of Science Nutrition or Nursing.
- Experience teaching Nutrition programs and providing individualized nutrition consultation.
- Drivers License:NV (AUTO:NV)
- Dietitian: NV (DIETITIAN:NV)
- Registered Dietician (RD)
Preferred:
- WIC experience.
