Job Description
Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Gastroenterology in Lufkin TX
Summary: Join a respected inpatient facility in Lufkin Texas seeking a Gastroenterology specialist with ERCP capabilities. This position focuses solely on in-house and emergency consults making it an excellent opportunity for those dedicated to acute care. The facility requires full-time coverage and candidates should be prepared to commit for multiple weeks each month.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized GI procedures including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
- Handle inpatient consultations and procedures generated from ER consults.
- Round on up to 10 patients daily and manage their care effectively.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and anesthesia for patient procedures.
- Document patient encounters and procedures using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Completion of a Gastroenterology Residency.
- Current Texas medical license.
- ACLS certification.
- Clean malpractice history preferred.
- Ability to commit to multiple weeks of coverage each month.
