About the Role

As a Finance Officer you will work collaboratively across the Corporate Operations and NISS National Client Services divisions providing financial support analysis and transactional processing across a wide range of finance functions. The role includes preparing journals managing transactional finance processes handling finance-related inquiries coordinating and completing reconciliations.

The successful candidate will have experience in a financial transactional service role with exposure to accounts payable and receivable. They will support the NISS National business unit in achieving finance-related objectives while ensuring compliance with organisational finance policies and procedures.

This is a permanent full-time position that can be based in either our Sunshine (VIC) or Parramatta (NSW) office with hybrid work-from-home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the NISS team in meeting all financial statutory and taxation requirements
  • Manage high-volume finance inboxes ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure finance-related information is communicated promptly
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve finance-related inquiries.
  • Maintain data integrity within financial systems perform regular reconciliations and prepare journals
  • Meet strict month-end deadlines including the preparation of journals
  • Prepare review and consolidate monthly invoicing and reporting requirements for funding bodies.
  • Support and coordinate quality assurance audits and reviews for relevant stakeholders
  • Review high-volume credit card transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial tracking records for services programs and allocated funds to ensure transparency accountability and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training for NISS programs on contractual compliance for finance property and the LWB finance systems.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate-level qualifications in Accounting Business Commerce or related
  • Experience in high volume finance transactional services such as accounts payable accounts receivable
  • Previous experience using ERP and CRM systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality outcomes within set timeframes
  • Experience working autonomously as well as part of a national team.
  • Ability to interpret financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of GST processes and requirements.
  • Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Excel Word & Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively engaged diverse audiences

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check.
