Summary
Kairos Academies is seeking a culture-building student-focused data-driven Engineering & Computer Science Teacher to deliver exceptional instruction through Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses such as Engineering Essentials and Computer Science Essentials. At Kairos all teachers are leadersyoull not only teach your content area but also take on whole-school service roles that shape our culture strengthen student development and deepen connections with families and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Rigorous Instruction & Curriculum
Deliver hands-on standards-aligned PLTW courses in engineering and/or computer science
Design engaging lessons projects and assessments aligned to PLTW pathways
Data-Driven Practice
Use student performance data from Gradient PLTW assessments and internal diagnostics to inform instruction
Monitor student growth and differentiate supports accordingly
Student & Family Engagement
Provide regular actionable feedback to students
Communicate progress and next steps with families through calls texts and conferences
Culture & Classroom Management
Build an inclusive high-expectations learning environment for up to 25 students per section
Foster trust and rapport with students families and colleagues
Whole-School Leadership
Serve in a whole-school service role (e.g. STEM Lead Grade-Level Lead Tech Integration Lead) to drive school-wide initiatives and reinforce Kairos values.

Mentoring Participation: 75%
On-Track Gradient Classes: 85%

Qualifications
Degree: Bachelors required (STEM or Education); Masters preferred
Certification: Valid Missouri teaching certification or willingness to certify ASAP
Experience: 23 years of high school STEM teaching preferred
PLTW Credentialing: PLTW certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire
Skills: Passion for engineering or computer science; proven ability to engage students in real-world problem-solving
Other: Eligible to work in the U.S.; pass criminal background check
Technology & Safety
Proficiency with Microsoft Office digital platforms and instructional technology
Adherence to school safety procedures and emergency protocols

Base Salary: $60000
