Qualifications
The Cardiac Sonographer
Performs routine and complex echocardiographic examinations integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain pertinent patient data. Reviews patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure the appropriate imaging techniques will be utilized. Functions independently with minimal supervision while using independent judgement to ensure that appropriate anatomical pathological and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the echocardiographic examination images. Documents patient data and echo exam informationutilizing the Echo Information Management System. Creates a complete and accurate preliminary report to assist Physicians in diagnosis of the patient condition and evaluation of with Advanced Cardiac Sonographers Physicians and other team members to assist in interpretation of echocardiographic findings. Possesses the ability to handle emergency situations with the aptitude to identify and triage clinical findings for appropriate in the orientation and training of all levels of trainees assigned to the Echocardiography laboratory. Expectations extend to include on-call practices weekends evenings and holiday coverage as needed.
