Job Description
The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Classroom Assistant - Bilingual (English/Spanish). This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility l ist for bothMonthly & Substitute Classroom Assistant - Bilingual (English/Spanish) Opportunities.
This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current vacancy shown belowas well as any future vacancies.This list will be active forthree (3) months with the possibility to be extended.

The Classroom Assistant will provide assistance to the instructional program in school classrooms and resource centers.

- Work Schedule:10months per year / 17.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday. Details about the shift will be provided during the interview.

- Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
- Vacancies that require the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma/GED and a passing score on the San Diego Unified School District Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) or an Associates degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. Completion of post high school courses in Psychology Early Childhood Development Elementary Education Special Education or related field is desirable.

Examination Process
