The Events Program Planning Manager -IWC Support Services serves as the IWCs overall event functional services planner coordinator and integrator and will also assist in the administration of honorarium programs for guest speakers and instructors researchers and authors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research and recommend contractors based on analysis and rationale of at least three sources to support events.
- Evaluate existing event planning procedures recommend improvements and implement modifications.
- Assist the Government in managing staff supporting event planners; create assignment schedule for event planners and updates as required; conduct performance evaluations of Event Planners and academic interns; create training materials for new event planning employees and implement standardized training programs specific to IWC operating system; and manage and standardize execution of seminar components which are universal to IWC seminars.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOP) for domestic and international events and conduct in-progress reviews (IPR) and after-action reviews with event planners. Assist Event Planners with travel requirements; acquiring airline tickets filing pre and post travel vouchers compile security information and manage cable transmissions when necessary.
- Travel in support of international programs and train staff to properly perform pre/onsite/post international event requirements. Conduct programs as assigned. Provides summary of activities and financial commitments to USG through the service contracts management on a weekly basis or as requested.
- Develop a positive image of the organization and is expected to attend special events and to establish personal relationships with participants alumni and diplomatic officials in the United States and in globally.

- Support the development and review all public publications social media newsletters press releases news releases: social media IWC Websites.
- Create and maintain a process for awarding honorariums to guest instructors guest speakers authors and researchers who are invited to support the IW Centers educational research and outreach goals and objectives.
- Report honoraria payments made for guest instruction guest speakers research and articles to the IW Center Chief of Staff quarterly.
- Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to align engagements and other work with the project plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in business management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience planning and supporting special events for a corporate or government organization
- Strong organizational skills extreme attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate well with various roles and levels across the organization and with multiple stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Must possess a Secret Clearance.
