Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital (HDVCH) offers an excellent full-time opportunity for an experienced child and adolescent psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider.
As an important member of the pediatric psychiatry multidisciplinary team you would be diagnosing and treating medically complex children referred to the practice for their psychiatric care as well as children with neurodevelopmental and other mental health conditions who are otherwise physically healthy. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population and have one or more years of experience practicing in child and adolescent psychiatry.

90-minute initial evaluation and 30-minute follow up appointments

Opportunity for both in-person and telehealth care delivery models
Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s). Exercises independent judgment in the assessment diagnosis and initiation of selected protocols/procedures. Collaborates closely with psychologists psychotherapists and physicians to provide high quality care. Provides educational opportunities for Pediatrics residents.
Qualifications
Physician Assistant
Required Masters Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
LIC-Physician Assistant - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
Nurse Practitioner
Required Masters Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a masters post-masters or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
3 years of relevant experience current relevant clinical experience Required
Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role Required
Experience as a Nurse Practictioner Preferred
