Our Team:

Among the portfolio of MBA programs the Johnson Graduate School of Management offers three executive MBA programs that allow professionals the opportunity to pursue an MBA while remaining engaged in their careers. Two of the offerings include: the Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY program and the Cornell Executive MBA Americas program. The EMBA Americas program is delivered in partnership with Queens University.

Both programs provide working professionals with the opportunity to pursue an Ivy League graduate degree by undertaking a rigorous weekend course of study in business management without interrupting their careers.

Classes in the EMBA Metro NY program are delivered in-person at the Cornell Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City on alternating weekends Saturday and half-day Sundays. Students also complete four one-week residential sessions in Ithaca at the start of each semester in July and January.

In the EMBA Americas program students attend classes from boardroom locations or from home via live interactive virtual instruction on alternating weekends. Staff in Ithaca and New York City support these students to develop them as responsible business leaders. There are four residential sessions for the EMBA Americas program in both the United States and Canada.

The Coordinator of Student Services & Events EMBA Opportunity

The Coordinator of Student Services & Events plays a critical role in delivering high-impact student experience for over 350 Executive MBA students enrolled in the Cornell EMBA Americas and EMBA Metro NY programs. Reporting to the Director of Operations for EMBA Programs this position works independently to lead the planning coordination and execution of class weekends multi-day residential sessions in Ithaca and NYC a range of co-curricular engagement activities or EMBA students and alumni and provides planning and coordination support to the Queens team for the Kingston and Toronto residential sessions . This includes end-to-end management of classroom and event logistics student lodging dietary accommodations faculty support professional headshots pre-program materials and coordination with IT catering and facilities. The role also supports onboarding of 215 new students each year facilitates communications and surveys manages program materials and announcements and ensures smooth operations across ten national boardrooms used by EMBA Americas students. Additionally this role collaborates with the EMBA Admissions team to provide logistical support for prospective student events helping to create a welcoming and polished first impression for future EMBA students.

With a student-first mindset this position is instrumental in cultivating a seamless community-centered environment during high-touch in-person programming. The coordinator regularly staffs class weekends and residential sessions serving as the first point of contact for programming and events for students and faculty alike. Responsibilities also include drafting class weekend newsletters supporting financial transactions maintaining program databases and contributing to special projects and strategic initiatives. As a core member of the two-person operations team this role ensures that academic delivery and co-curricular engagement exceed expectations despite high volume and complexity.

This is a full-time position with regular weekend work required.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.
  • Associates degree with 2 to 4 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills good organization and time management skills
  • Good judgement and maturity good attention to detail
  • Very strong MS Office suite skills data analysis skills and budgeting experience.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with a demanding client group in a calm and efficient manner is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design and implementation of surveys.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Very strong Excel and Powerpoint experience and skills positive experiences in process improvement experience in higher education or hospitality helpful.

This is a full-time position based in New York NY and will provide hybrid work flexibility. Salary to commensurate with education and experience.
