Role Overview
Client is driving a major digital transformation across the Americas Division modernizing its technology landscape and strengthening its data-driven approach. As part of this initiative the Risk Technology Group is seeking a Director-level Technology Lead to lead teams in building and implementing technology solutions that support credit risk management and advance the firms credit transformation strategy.
This role requires both deep technical expertise (Python Risk Technology) and strong leadership skills to deliver business-critical solutions optimize technology outcomes and maintain operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and delivery of technology solutions for credit risk management.
- Oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Provide technical leadership in Python development; guide architecture coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology solutions with strategic objectives.
- Drive innovation by incorporating cloud (Azure) AI/ML and data engineering tools (Databricks) where applicable.
- Ensure effective use of risk metrics (VaR sVaR stress testing counterparty credit risk sensitivity analysis etc.) in technology solutions.
- Work with financial instruments market data sources and trading systems to support credit risk processes.
- Manage teams and mentor developers fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Balance delivery with strong operational controls cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
- Represent Risk Technology in executive discussions presentations and cross-functional forums.
- Apply both Agile and Waterfall project management practices to manage scope timelines and budgets.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 15 years of professional experience in large banks with a strong focus on Risk Technology.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and overseeing multiple parallel deliveries.
- Expertise in Python (mandatory); additional experience in Azure cloud computing is preferred.
- Familiarity with credit risk and market risk metrics (VaR sVaR stress testing counterparty credit risk credit quality indicators sentiment analysis).
- Experience with market data financial instruments and trading systems.
- Exposure to frontend JavaScript technologies.
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL NoSQL) distributed computing and data pipelines.
- Experience with Databricks and AI/ML technologies (highly desirable).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Hands-on knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project frameworks plus tools like JIRA and MS Project.
- Strong relationship-building influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of financial operations planning controls management MIS and data/reporting processes in investment banking.
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
