Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Games the Program Manager leads the coordination and delivery of core initiatives including the Games Grants Digital Games Incentive and programs that strengthen industry capability and community engagement.

As part of a collaborative and fast-paced team the Program Manager leads program implementation contributes to sector policy development and manages stakeholder engagement with government industry and the broader games community. The role is responsible for assessing funding applications tracking project outcomes and ensuring alignment with Screen Queenslands strategic goal to position Queensland as a leading hub for game development.

The Games Program Manager will be proactive purposeful and organised while displaying flexibility and open-mindedness. They will act and communicate with honesty openness and generosity in the interests of the success of the sector the team and the wider Queensland screen industry. You will:

  • Lead the implementation of Screen Queenslands game funding programs including seed funding and incentive initiatives.
  • Assess funding applications (CCO delegation) monitor and evaluate project outcomes and provide recommendations to support effective program delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain internal processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of core funding programs.
  • Engage with local developers to support business growth facilitate networking opportunities and offer program-level guidance for Queensland-based studios.
  • Foster relationships with government agencies industry bodies and private sector investors to drive support for the Queensland games industry.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to manage funding agreements and ensure projects meet compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Represent Screen Queensland at conferences expos and networking events advocating for Queenslands games sector domestically.
  • Support the development and execution of initiatives that position Queensland as a leader in game development.
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably required or directed.

The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and have demonstrated experience within the games industry or related areas such as publishing or funding with a strong understanding of production pipelines funding mechanisms and market trends. They will be a forward-thinking professional passionate about supporting industry development with strong stakeholder engagement and program management skills. You will bring:

  • A minimum of two years experience in games production publishing or industry support with sound knowledge of funding models and business development within the sector.
  • Experience managing funding programs and supporting projects through to completion ensuring they align with organisational goals.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with industry partners government agencies and investors to contribute to sector growth.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including confidence in presenting at events and providing guidance to game developers.
  • Ability to monitor industry trends identify opportunities and assist in implementing strategies that support the growth of Queenslands games industry.
  • Familiarity with Queenslands digital games landscape and international industry trends.
