We are seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to lead and manage survey operations for complex civil and transportation this senior-level role you will oversee multiple field crews manage project delivery enforce QA/QC standards and cultivate client relationshipsall while contributing to the growth of our employee-owned firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan schedule and supervise daily activities of multiple field crews and office survey technicians.
- Manage project budgets timelines and client expectations ensuring quality and compliance.
- Coordinate surveys with VDOT and local municipalities for roadway and utility corridor projects.
- Support business development through proposals client relationships and regional expansion.
- Mentor and coach staff through one-on-one sessions performance planning and training.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or eligible to sit for the exam within six months (exam fees covered).
- 12 years of surveying experience including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with DOT and municipal projects.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- In-depth knowledge of federal state and local surveying regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelors in surveying or civil technology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in subsurface utility locating/designating.
- Experience with LiDAR aerial mapping or sUAS operations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $85000 - $145000 commensurate with experience and licensure.
