Cimarron is seeking an entry-level to junior-levelInstrumentation & Control Engineerto support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design construction and integration of the Sentinel launch systems at locations to include Vandenberg AFB CA F.E. Warren AFB WY Malmstrom AFB MT and Minot AFB ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nations aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad - the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is anon-siteposition that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off) paid overtime and an outstanding work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area a relocation allowance can be provided.

Cimarron is offering a $1000 referral bonus for all full-time hires for this opportunity!

Key Duties:

  • Assist in designing and developing instrumentation and control systems in support of the USAF Sentinel program following applicable codes standards and project requirements.
  • Support the development of control system designs for facility utilities such as HVAC lighting and power systems.
  • Help create and update P&IDs logic diagrams functional block diagrams and instrument data sheets using AutoCAD.
  • Assist in compiling instrument indexes and I/O lists using automated tools and vendor information.
  • Support the preparation of specifications and procurement documents using SpecsIntact under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Help review vendor submittals and incorporate feedback into design updates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to execute assigned work tasks and maintain design accuracy.
  • Assist in ensuring that designs meet applicable security requirements in coordination with project and government stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation to support quality and schedule objectives.
  • Participate in project meetings take notes and follow up on assigned action items.


Requirements

Required Skills Experience and Education:

  • Due to facility security requirements only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance in a reasonable timeframe.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid unexpired Real ID-compliant drivers license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your drivers license or state ID.
  • Knowledge of the drawings calculations and specifications for systems and equipment in nuclear or industrial process facilities data centers central utility plants or complex building systems.
  • Experience designing systems for industrial or government facilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and office automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems design principles codes and standards.
  • Ability to review and develop technical drawings data sheets and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2or more years of related experience or Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study.

Desired Skills Experience and Education:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Actively pursuing an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards such as Bechtels Corporate Guides and Standards.
  • Exposure to ISO-9000 or other quality management programs.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity considerations for control system designs.
  • Familiarity with secure facility design concepts (e.g. SCIF TEMPEST ICD-705).
  • Prior experience or internship work supporting the DoD or other government agencies.
  • Basic proficiency in SmartPlant 3D SmartSketch and SpecsIntact or willingness to learn these tools.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of reading and interpreting mechanical/process engineering drawings and calculations.
  • Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and CSI MasterFormat specifications.
  • Bachelors degree.
