As a key member of the CBC Kids Content team you will manage the smooth and efficient logistical operations across content development production acquisitions delivery and scheduling. This role includes working with the creative team internal stakeholders as well as the independent production community to ensure CBC Kids shows reach our audiences while meeting content targets conditions of licence funding and diversity requirements. You will work closely with the Content Manager for Production Deliveries and Reporting who will report directly to you.
ORIGINAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT:
Set up systems for project intake evaluation and response tracking
Maintain and share ongoing survey of relevant market trends announcements
Support SD/Exec team in setting Content goals and requirements
Support team in communicating goals with Independent community
Read materials/review and assess for suitability recommend action
Assign script review to Content Manager others for review
Take pitches with independent producers as needed make recommendations
Attend industry events
Communicate review results to external producers
Liaise with Business and Rights and provide information needed for contracts and negotiations
Ensure Diversity requirements are discussed and forms completed by Independent Producers
Support Development initiatives within the department (Access 3.0 Kindred etc)
Track progress of development projects
Support Greenlight decision meetings and make recommendations
CONTENT ACQUISITION
Work with SD/Execs to set Acquisition goals and requirements
Work with SD/EXECS to create and maintain lists of available content distributors
Screen potential acquisitions and make recommendations
Supervise creation of RTA when licensing content and ensure B and R have all the information they need for negotiations and contracts
Supervise and or review all materials to be received by CBC
Liaise with Content Manager and Network Scheduling team
PRODUCTION DELIVERIES SCHEDULING REPORTING
Oversee Senior Specialist Childrens Content Production Acquisition Deliveries and Scheduling
Ensure accurate tracking of content targets conditions of licence and all program requirements.
Work closely with Senior Director Network Scheduling Content Manager to maintain delivery and launch schedules as well as communications with internal and external stakeholders
You will be part of a fun-loving team that includes passionate and supportive kids media specialists who create award winning scripted and unscripted television and digital content for CBC TV CBC GEM our websites and on third party platforms. We check in regularly work collaboratively on projects and come together to celebrate milestones and accomplishments as well as for training and professional development. All CBC Kids team members engage with our audiences through outreach activities that include virtual tours and (when allowed) in-person events.
You are highly creative innovative and collaborative
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Childrens Media and or Animation
Understanding and direct interaction with Canadian and International Childrens media community including creatives producers and distributors
5 years of experience in a broadcasting environment with an understanding of asset delivery broadcasting and digital distribution
5 years of experience working in a Content Development environment
Excellent communication skills
Passion for Childrens Media including an understanding of current Childrens Content market
General understanding of child development including Preschool School Age and Tweens with a focus on media use
University degree or relevant equivalent education and experience
