We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Building Maintenance Helper. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are clean safe and in working order. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance repair and cleaning of buildings and equipment.
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Building Maintenance Helper. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are clean safe and in working order. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance repair and cleaning of buildings and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cleaning window washing floor scrubbing and general upkeep of buildings
- Check boilers to ensure correct operation
- Perform minor carpentry work (e.g. furniture repair)
- Prepare surfaces and assist with interior painting
- Maintain grounds including mowing lawns and trimming shrubs
- Replace light bulbs and fuses
- Clean lavatories and polish metal fixtures
- Assist with snow and ice removal
- Maintain tools and mechanical equipment
- May operate light vehicles and maintenance equipment
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience in general manual labor
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Working knowledge of basic building maintenance tools and practices
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required to perform duties
- Must be in good physical condition
