Function: Woonsocket High School is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Studies/Special Education Teacher to join our FATE/FOCUSS Behavior Program serving students with significant emotional behavioral and social-emotional needs. This program provides intensive individualized instruction and behavioral supports within a structured therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in behavior intervention strong classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering student growth both academically and socially. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provide specially designed instruction aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and state Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Crisis Prevention and Intervention strategies and other evidence-based practices to support students with behavioral and monitor measurable IEP goals including academic behavioral and social-emotional responsible for writing an individualized educational plan for assigned students enrolled in the written quarterly reports to parents of students enrolled in the with school-based support teams including social workers behavior specialists and analyze and use behavioral and academic data to inform instruction and regularly with families case managers and outside agencies to ensure consistent in professional development staff meetings and team planning compliance with all federal state and district special education in behavior intervention planning with an understanding of FBAs and BIPs.Required Qualifications: RIDE Certification in 9-12 Special EducationPreferred Qualifications:RIDE Certification in 9-12 Social Studies preferredExperience in an urban school experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities at the secondary in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or of trauma-informed teaching practices and restorative with PBIS SEL curriculum and data-driven instructional degree
