Job Description

Field Technician (Highways Technology)

  • Field Technician (Highways Technology)
  • Home based covering Hampshire Berkshire or Hertfordshire
  • c37000 per year ( company works vehicle)

The Opportunity:

Im on the lookout for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to develop their career in Field Service Engineering.

You will be trained to conduct installation and maintenance activities on a variety of roadside electronic equipment within your patch (CCTV ANPR Sensors etc.) working alongside a team of experienced engineers to maintain the electrical infrastructure in your patch.

Special consideration will be given to candidates who have worked in a roadside environment (telecoms utilities traffic signals) with ticketing machines (ticket vending entrance gates oyster card readers) or those coming from the Armed Forces (Royal Signals Royal Navy Royal Engineers REME etc.).

Skills and Experience:

  • A background in installation or maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment
  • Willingness to work in a roadside environment and at heights
  • Able to undertake night scheduled work
  • Able to pass basic criminal background checks
  • Previous experience working CCTV ANPR or similar technologies would be beneficial
  • Knowledge/exposure to IT Networking (IP LAN WAN Routing etc.)
  • Full drivers licence

Role and Responsibilities:

Carry out installation commissioning and maintenance activities on all equipment in line with the provided schedule
Undertake software hardware and systems testing
Coordinate with the lead engineers to arrange maintenance and inspection schedules
Adhere to company Health and Safety procedures and produce required documentation
Manage small projects/tasks which could include budget schedule and quality requirements.
