Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in overseeing daily accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll

and general ledger activities.

Support the preparation review and analysis of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.

Assist in developing and implementing financial policies procedures and internal controls to ensure data

accuracy and integrity.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and accounting standards.

Partner with the Controller to analyze financial trends variances and operational performance to support

strategic decision-making.

Coordinate with department leaders to gather and validate budget and forecast data.

Support the preparation of management reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist with regulatory compliance tax filings and audits by preparing required documentation and

responding to auditor inquiries.

Monitor and reconcile account balances ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.

Participate in system upgrades process improvements and special financial projects as assigned.

Provide training and mentoring for other accounting associates.

Serve as a backup to the Controller in their absence ensuring continuity of financial operations.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements:

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or a related field

Certification Requirements: CPA License

Experience Requirements: 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferably in a

corporate environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.

Exceptional computer skills particularly manipulating worksheet files spreadsheets and databases in

QuickBooks MS Office and MS Access; includes the ability to learn and use various customer software

programs.

Thorough understanding of commonly used concepts practices and procedures in a service firm that

produces billable project work (i.e. engineering architectural construction) particularly in either the

billing or payroll department.

Integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Available during the core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and occasional evening and weekend

work may be required as duties demand.

Dependable transportation and valid drivers license and insurance

Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.

Authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to endure frequent lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.

Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard computer monitor and telephone for prolonged periods of

time.

Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures

transcribing notes and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision distance vision

color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey

detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately often in a group setting.

Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the

discriminations in sound.
