Property Tax Analyst

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Property Tax Manager you will play a key role in most aspects of property tax operations from compliance and reporting to strategic analysis. You will help ensure efficiency and deliver value in our tax processes.

What youll do

• Manage property tax compliance reporting including preparation review and filing of state and local tax returns.
• Review audit and verify accuracy of valuation and assessment related tax documents.
• Prepare and analyze valuation data for assessment settlement hearings.
• Support monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations of tax account balances.
• Assist in the preparation of Federal Energy Regulated Commission (FERC) rate case schedules.
• Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or a related field
• 5 years of accounting finance or tax experience
• High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to develop new ideas
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Highly adaptable team-oriented and able to work independently
• Excellent critical thinking and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to organize and create a workflow assembly line to keep track of various tasks
• Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial statement reporting (preferably FERC Form 2 reporting experience)
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• SAP or ERP experience

This position requires candidates to:

• Have and maintain a valid drivers license and provide a drivers abstract (record) for review
• Overnight stays away from home base will be required (estimated up to 10% of work schedule)
