Job Description

Job Title:Manager Social Enterprise

Status: Temporary Full Time (exempt)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (some evenings andweekends as required)
Location:Surrey BC

Start Date:ASAP

Salary:This positionstarts at $72000 per year and increases to $103535per year over a 10- yearperiod. This salary range incorporates experience yearly salary increments toreward years of service employee growth and development within theorganization.

TheOpportunity:

We arelooking to hire a highly driven Manager to assist the organization in runningthe operations of our Interpretation and Translation services Skills TrainingCentre and the CELPIP test centre. Reporting to the Director EmploymentLanguage and Social Entrepreneurship. Responsibilities of this diverseportfolio include building and strengthening internal and externalrelationships managing customer relations and implementing strategiesdesigned to run the operations efficiently. You will work with the DirectorEmployment Language and Social Entrepreneurship for smooth functioning ofthese fee-based ventures .

The Managerof Social Enterprise is responsible for the oversight of direct servicedelivery ensuring client centered design implementation innovation andevaluation of ITS and CELPIP. The Manager of Social Enterprise ensuresthe fulfillment of contractual deliverables manages associated human andfinancial resources and manages risk within the ITS and CELPIPportfolios. The Manager will monitor emerging client and community needssecure and grow funding for programs/services advocate to the customer-baseand develop strategic partnerships to build the capacity of ITS and CELPIP tosupport the organizations strategic platform.

KeyResponsibilities:

ProgramDelivery & Contract Management

*AdministersITS STC and CELPIP efficiently and effectively in accordance with contractualobligations and DIVERSEcity Policy and Procedures.

*Monitorsand ensures service quality requests utilization and evaluation in accordancewith service contracts.

*EnsuresITS STC and CELPIP staff and subcontractors are managed in compliance with theCollective Agreement and agency Policies and Procedures.

*Ensuresthat services utilize best practices in the industry and are responsive tocommunity need.

*Preparesbudget forecasts and monitors program expenditures with support from thefinance department.

*Preparesfunding applications and proposals for contract renewals.

*Providesreports/invoices to customers assigned supervisor or Board of Directors asrequired.

*Liaiseswith customers regarding operations and reporting as well as ongoing planningevaluation and advocacy.

*Participatespositively and cooperatively; within a team or partnership model in meetingsor when attending committees or events pertaining to ITS and CELPIP.

*Representsand advocates for DIVERSEcity positively and professionally in the community.

*Attendsmeetings conferences & participates on advisory committees and focusgroups as a representative of DIVERSEcity.

*Ensuresthat the Director or designate is informed and updated on issues related toprograms being managed especially those that may present a risk to theorganization.

Supervision& Management

*Ensuresall staff and contractors provide professional client centred support whichenables quality service delivery.

*Carriesout the day-to-day administration of the Collective Agreement and DIVERSEcityPolicies and Procedures.

*Coachesand supports staff in areas where improvements are desired or whereperformance conduct or attendance issues are present.

*Resolvesemployee/team/contractor concerns manages conflict between staff customersand contractors and reports any concerns to the Director.

*Ensuresseamless service delivery by ensuring adequate staffing levels by conductingrecruitment selection and hiring of new personnel with support from the HumanResources department.

*Ensurestraining and professional development opportunities for staff to meet theemerging needs of clients in the community.

*Conductsannual performance reviews for all direct ITS and CELPIP staff.

ServiceDevelopment Strategic Growth & Innovation

*Buildingand maintaining relationships with both internal and external sales andmarketing departments vendors distributors partners and customers.

*Formulatingand implementing an account management plan to ensure that business relationsare properly maintained.

*Fostersand works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the teamsand work functions.

*Developsannual plans to grow the ITS and other revenue-based portfolios.

* Ensuresthat ITS are innovative effective and meet the needs of clients and theircommunity.

*Participatesin external committees advisory groups and relevant ITS networks to beinformed and updated on emerging issues build capacity of services andadvocate on behalf of clients to help address service gaps in the community.

*Activelyparticipates in opportunities (both internal and external) for both knowledgeand skill development in ITS growth and development (e.g. professionaldevelopment training coaching manager meetings networking needs assessmentcommunity growth trends and initiatives).

*Looksfor innovation and building capacity within portfolio including exploration ofvideo phone services as well as sign-language indigenous languagesinterpretation and translation.

*Preparesand submits funding applications and proposals for ITS.

*Conductscontract negotiations under the direction of the Director.

Qualifiedcandidates will posses:

*Universitydegree in business management or relevant post-secondary training andexperience in business development.

*Provenrecent business development experience preferably with knowledge of the ITSindustry.

*Aminimum of 3 years experience working in a community based non-profit societyand experience in management and/or funding and proposal/grant writing.

*Aminimum of 1 year experience in supervising staff preferably within aunionized setting.

*Experiencewith budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring.

*StrongEnglish language skills including written oral and presentation skills. Asecond language would be considered an asset.

*Strongorganizational and time management skills.

*Strongcomputer literacy skills in particular MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint);

*Socialmedia savviness is a definite asset.

*Knowledgeof immigrant communities and settlement issues.

*Knowledgeof Surrey North Delta White Rock and/or Langley communities is an asset.

*Abilityto manage multiple priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment.

*Excellentproblem-solving ability discretion and judgement.

*Ableto work independently and collegially in a team environment.

*Innovativeflexible and able to manage change and uncertainty.

*ValidClass 5 Drivers License and access to personal vehicle.

*Willingto work some evenings and weekends as needed.
