Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The individual in this position is responsible for the shipment of all products materials and supplies. Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians customer service representatives service providers and others involved in the shipment of products. Tracks traces and updates the status of outgoing shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pack crate and ship large parts and products Check shipments for accuracy
Build pallets and crates for heavier shipments
Occasionally deliver product to local market via 26 truck no CDL required
Ensure that work and surrounding areas are kept clean and maintained at all times Work in a team environment to effectively ship out our finished products
Drive and operate forklift
Obtain ship tickets installation drawings and work order ship tickets for all millwork to be shipped. This paperwork should be organized by job. If paperwork is not available or missing contact Project Manager.
Organize completed millwork for shipping.
Check on status of all millwork for specific shipments to determine whether shipment will go complete. If a ship ticket includes items that will not ship contact the Project Manager.
Check all completed millwork for labeling. If millwork is not properly labeled contact the lead person on the project and obtain proper labeling.
Securely wrap or package all millwork for shipping and oversee all other employees wrapping millwork for shipping. This includes following Glenn Rieder procedures for placing proper part numbering on millwork.
Assign tasks to employees who have been designated to assist with preparing millwork for shipment.
Responsible for loading of all trucks. This includes providing direction to all employees assigned to assist with loading.
Responsible for providing accurate accounting of what has been shipped by filling out ship tickets and work order ship tickets with complete shipping information.
Prepare bills of lading and other appropriate paperwork for materials being shipped to other vendors.
Follow proper material check-in procedure for all materials received at Glenn Rieder.
Record material receipts in Spectrum.
Work with Purchasing to contact trucking companies to set up shipments.
Requisition shipping supplies crating lumber boxes paper etc.
Train and supervise employees assigned to shipping department

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must pass pre-employment physical/musculoskeletal exam
Must pass drug screening
Must pass an audiogram test
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to five pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception the ability to see and differentiate color and to focus.
