Job Description

Essential Functions
Retention strategy development and advising Provide academic and career advice to students and alumni by appointment drop-in telephone email and in group/workshop settings including general advising on the PaCE curriculum and how it relates to career or graduate school pathways job search preparation and related resources. Provide leadership and collaborate with faculty staff and current adult students to develop and sustain academic and career advising programs specifically those taking part-time online and non-credit certificate offerings. Work closely with the PaCE Associate Director of Admissions to support a seamless hand-off from the point of students admission through program completion. Act as a primary advisor for students interested in Prior Learning from Experience program and participate in assessment and revision of that program as it evolves. Maintain regular evening office hours within the PaCE space to meet students schedules where appropriate. Direct students to personality interest skill assessment and computer-based inventories geared toward adult learner students. Maintain a database and communicate with students who have withdrawn or taken leave of absence to seek their return to the College while working with them to resolve issues impacting their registration. Collaboration with campus partners Coordinate with Academic and Career Advising the PaCE team and other relevant campus partners develop and implement holistic and focused academic and career advising strategies for diverse adult learners from admission to graduation and beyond and ensure PaCE students are connected to appropriate internal and external resources. Develop and maintain relationships with Evergreen faculty to better understand their areas of expertise resource knowledge and related strengths. Program evaluation and assessment Track students successes and milestones and prepare reports as collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research assist in regular program evaluations including the managing and tracking of data production of annual reports and regular self-studies. Participate in strategic planning focused on adult learners and returning students. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of student employment internship trends policies and compliance procedures by staying current with state federal and institutional policies. Assist in creating and achieving retention goals and objectives for PaCE students based on trend data and historical reporting. Training and events Support training and serve as a resource to other campus professionals including faculty by providing guidance and support to enhance holistic academic and career advising of adult learners. Coordinate designated projects events or programs that support academic and career advising. Support the recruitment of new PaCE students by participating in open houses and other admission events. Plan and promote student involvement in internship and employment opportunities to supplement the learning experiences in the classroom while also developing and facilitating workshops and trainings related to student employment. Additional Duties Represent PaCE and The Evergreen State College at local regional national and international professional conferences and meetings in support of enhancing college programs and services attaining unit and college goals and promoting the visibility and reputation of the College; organizations might include National Association of Student Personnel Administrators American College Personnel Association) National Academic Advising Association National Association of Colleges and Employers and National Career Development Association. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in education Counseling Student Personnel Administration or another related field. Three years of professional work experience in higher education student services i.e. adult education multi-cultural student recruitment academic advising and/or career services. Professional experience working effectively with diverse communities.
