Job Description
Location : Wilmington DE Washington DC Plano TX - DE/ DC AND DALLAS TX - ONSITE
A SAP MM (Materials Management) consultant is a specialized role focused on implementing and optimizing the SAP MM module which manages procurement inventory and other material-related processes within an organization. They work to ensure efficient and effective materials management often collaborating with various teams to streamline supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Sourcing:
They lead and support procurement activities including vendor selection contract management and purchase order creation.
Inventory Management:
Consultants help optimize inventory levels manage stock movements and ensure accurate inventory tracking within the SAP system.
Integration:
They ensure seamless integration of the SAP MM module with other SAP modules like FI/CO (Financial Accounting/Controlling) SD (Sales and Distribution) and PP (Production Planning).
Training and Support:
SAP MM consultants provide end-user training on the SAP MM functionalities and offer ongoing support to resolve issues and address user needs.
Process Optimization:
They analyze existing business processes identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the materials management function.
System Upgrades and Enhancements:
Consultants participate in system upgrades enhancements and testing to ensure the SAP MM module remains up-to-date and aligned with business needs.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
They investigate and resolve issues related to the SAP MM module including incidents and service requests.
Documentation:
SAP MM consultants are responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation related to the SAP MM module.
Implementation and Configuration:
SAP MM consultants are responsible for implementing and configuring the SAP MM module to meet specific business requirements. This includes customizing the system setting up material master data and configuring procurement and inventory management processes.
In essence a SAP MM consultant acts as a bridge between business requirements and the technical capabilities of the SAP system ensuring that the organization can effectively manage its materials and related processes.
