Westfield Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for one (1) opening of a Math Specialist position at Westfield Middle School. JOB SUMMARY:The Math Specialist will work with teachers and school administrators to identify students who are in need of Tier 2 intervention in mathematics. The teacher will provide instruction that is engaging academically rigorous culturally responsive and aligned to the curriculum standards and frameworks. The teacher will focus on the implementation of school and district intervention priorities and adopted intervention curricula using student performance data. Using the structures of department/grade level team meetings professional learning community meetings and professional development time the Math Specialist will work with teachers and administrators to identify support and report on progress of students in need of additional mathematics support. RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates skill at interpretation of assessment data to drive instructionReview data to make instructional decisions to address student instruction management systems which increases student learning and maximizes time on taskPlan and develop lessons and activities conducive to remote learning and student with the teachers and other appropriate staff in the school to provide coordinated with teachers for instruction planning and MTSS model and tiered instruction and maintain accurate records on student achievement articulating the progress and explicit math instruction to a classroom climate conducive to and maintain positive relationships with school in and provide district professional professional work other job related duties as assigned by Building Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction. REPORTS TO: Building Principal Salary and terms of employment will be commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools Unit A on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Westfield School Committees policy on position subject to grant funding
