Job Description:
Role Summary
The L2 Automation Engineer supports the design and maintenance of automation scripts and tasks that improve efficiency across compute and infrastructure services. Working under the guidance of senior engineers this role assists in the development testing and deployment of automated solutions for day-to-day infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development of scripts for provisioning monitoring and patching tasks.
- Assist in maintaining automation playbooks and deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and maintain execution logs.
- Work with L3 engineers to review automation requirements and contribute improvements.
- Participate in rollout of new automation modules across environments.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in basic scripting languages (PowerShell Bash Python).
- Experience with Ansible basics and Git repositories.
- Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing integration (optional: ServiceNow workflows).
- Understanding of infrastructure components like OS storage and networking.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Bachelors degree or technical diploma in IT or equivalent.
- 3-5 years in infrastructure support roles with automation exposure.
