DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule hospital outpatient services including imaging tests therapy sessions and other
procedures.
Confirm necessary authorizations for hospital outpatient procedures.
Update demographic and insurance information in the hospitals system.
Communicate appointment details and preparation instructions to patients.
Handle patient inquiries reschedule appointments and manage cancellations professionally.
Work closely with hospital departments including radiology cardiology and surgical services to
ensure seamless scheduling processes.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize hospital scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital scheduling software.
WORK EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
Previous experience in hospital outpatient scheduling patient registration or a similar role preferred.
