Job Description
General Description: Under administrative supervision the Social Workers role is to serve as a resource providing intervening services to strengthen district/community partnerships and address barriers to student learning within a full range of comprehensive support. Reference the job description linked below for additional Details: Full-time position (5 days a week); 185 days (following school calendar)Salary: $57986 (based on 185-day contract)Key Responsibilities:Identify students at risk and implement interventions to improve academic and social a social or developmental history on a child with a (group individual and/or family).Provide counseling services to special education students as indicated by the Individualized Educational Planning consultation regarding school law and school policy including IDEA and Section intervention strategies to increase academic counselingassisting with conflict resolution and anger management;helping children develop appropriate social interaction skills; andassisting children in understanding and accepting self and students with mental health students to additional services as school districts receive adequate support from social and mental health for new and improved community/school services to meet the needs of students and the school system respond effectively to each students crisis and reporting child abuse and staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural societal economic familial health etc.) affecting a students performance and teachers with behavior direct support to staff in-service training programs as :Masters degree or higher in social work psychology or a related field from an accredited college or a valid Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Independent Social Worker license issued by the Ohio Counselor Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist to obtain Ohio Pupil Services Social Worker Registration or equivalent licenseMinimum three years of experience in a school setting skills including basic computer skills and the ability to work with the Google Workspace tools and Microsoft Suite and problem-solving skills as it relates to working with students staff and organizational skillsAbility to maintain a level of confidentiality regarding student information and pass a criminal background and maintain a valid drivers license and reliable of:Southern Ohio Educational Service Center policies and regulations; district contact persons and staff; integrated model of service delivery in schools; appropriate social work practices; State and Federal Rules and to:Interpret policies procedures and regulations; follow instructions; maintain files and records; collect data; prepare required reports; demonstrate a positive relationship with staff; promote a favorable image in the best interests of the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center; possess physical and emotional ability and dexterity to work in a fast-paced highly intensive work environment reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsApplication Deadline: Until FilledAnticipated Start Date: August 2025Interested applicants should send a letter of interest resume three professional references and a copy of any credentials to:Casey Enochs Assistant SuperintendentSouthern Ohio Educational Service Center3321 Airborne Road Wilmington Ohio 45177Email: : ext. 1039Southern Ohio Educational Service Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race color religion age sex national origin disability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression of any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws.
