Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef specialising in Lebanese cuisine to join our team at a My Guardian facility located in the Bankstown area. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Arabic have a strong background in Lebanese culinary traditions hold a Certificate III in Hospitality and be committed to preparing healthy flavourful meals in accordance with dietary guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and contemporary Lebanese dishes for facility clients and staff.

  • Plan weekly menus that meet nutritional requirements and dietary needs.

  • Ensure all meals are prepared in a safe hygienic and timely manner.

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in line with food safety standards.

  • Manage stock levels place orders and monitor inventory.

  • Communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking clients and staff to understand cultural and dietary preferences.

  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure meals meet individual client needs.

  • Adhere to food handling hygiene and OH&S regulations at all times.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Hospitality (Essential).

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate IV in Commercial cookery (Essential).

  • Food safety handler certificate.

  • Proven experience in preparing Lebanese cuisine in a commercial kitchen environment.

  • Fluent in Arabic (Essential).

  • Previous experience in Aged Care setting (Preferred).

  • Understanding of dietary requirements and cultural preferences related to food.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a team setting.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Full working rights in Australia.

Work Hours

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
