About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join our team at an aged care facility in Punchbowl. This role is central to creating nutritious high quality meals that meet the diverse dietary needs of our residents while ensuring compliance with aged care and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan prepare and cook nutritious meals tailored to residents dietary requirements including modified and texture-appropriate meals.
Work with the Facility Manager and care staff to ensure menus align with nutritional guidelines aged care standards and resident preferences.
Manage daily kitchen operations including stock control ordering and budget oversight.
Maintain a safe clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations.
Lead and support catering staff ensuring proper training and teamwork.
Oversee the dining experience to create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for residents.
Ensure compliance with all relevant aged care standards food handling practices and OH&S requirements.
Liaise with healthcare teams to ensure residents nutritional and hydration needs are consistently met.
Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential).
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma in Hospitality (highly regarded).
Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Previous experience as a Chef in an aged care healthcare or similar environment.
Strong understanding of aged care nutrition and hydration requirements.
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and ability to prepare texture-modified meals.
Demonstrated leadership communication and time management skills.
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
