Position Summary
The Director of Operations in the School of Information and Library Science provides comprehensive leadership and management of the Schools administrative functions overseeing HR finance research administration and facilities. This role supervises the operations team serving as the escalation point for all operational issues and ensuring excellence across staff functions. The Director manages key operational and process improvement projects implements effective systems for project and budget management and ensures initiatives of the Dean have the necessary resources and remain on schedule. Responsibilities also include overseeing HR compliance and policy development managing budgets and financial activities and serving as the main contact for University offices. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Finance and Operations.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Bachelors degree in Business Administration Operations Management Higher Education Administration or a related field. * Experience in higher education or a similarly complex environment.

* Strong leadership and supervisory skills. * Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty staff and students. * Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges. * Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency. * Proficiency in office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) project management tools and familiarity with academic or enterprise management systems (e.g. PeopleSoft Banner etc.). * Experience in strategic planning and implementation. * Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for operations management. * Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. * A Masters degree is preferred.
