The Director of Originations Private Equity Primaries will lead the sourcing intake and pipeline management functions across the Primaries platform at Apogem Capital. The objective of this newly created senior-level role is to create scalable processes that ensure Apogem is engaging with the full universe of buyout and growth equity general partners in the North American middle and lower middle intentional engagement is expected to drive platform-wide deal flow. The Director of Originations Private Equity Primaries will own the development and execution of the sourcing process and serve as a partner to Portfolio Managers the investment team and client-facing professionals. This is a dedicated sourcing role and is ideal for professionals energized by deal flow generation process design and implementation and active relationship building.
What Youll Do:
Sourcing & Intake Management
- Own and execute a centralized tech-enabled intake process for all inbound primary fund opportunities
- Triage inbound opportunities manage resource allocation/staffing and oversee initial follow-up
- Establish scoring/ranking criteria for opportunities based on absolute and client specific requirement metrics
Pipeline Management & Process Oversight
- Own master pipeline and client-specific pipelines with real-time updates and quality controls leveraging junior and mid-level investment team for execution and support
- Collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to assess investment opportunity fit and actionability
- Drive accountability across the investment team to ensure accurate and updated processes for pipeline creation and maintenance
Outbound Sourcing & Market Coverage
- Design implement and manage a systematic tech-enabled outbound sourcing program covering North American middle and lower middle markets (inclusive of industry landscapes) and hold investment team accountable to execution
- Engage with fund managers placement agents and other market participants (including other private equity investors) to generate high-quality deal flow
- Contribute to the optimization of platform sourcing activities across co-investment credit and secondaries
Brand Building & Conference Engagement
- Prioritize and represent Apogem at key sourcing focused conferences
- Contribute to Apogems broader brand-building efforts through consistent market presence
What Youll Bring:
- Four-year college degree; preference for majors in finance economics or accounting
- 10 years of relevant experience in private equity fund origination investment management or related roles
- Proven experience managing or building deal pipelines and sourcing functions
- Deep understanding of the North American private equity landscape especially within the middle and lower middle markets
- Familiarity with private equity focused technology solutions like DealCloud
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills; ability to synthesize and present insights internally and externally
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous process improvement
- Highly collaborative mindset able to work cross-functionally with investment professionals Portfolio Managers and other functional groups within Apogem
- Active network of GPs LPs placement agents etc
- This position may require up to 25% travel

Salary range:$190000 - $200000
Overtime eligible:Exempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individuals experience skills qualifications and job addition to base salary employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
