Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable & Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing process ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with customer contracts and internal policies. This role plays a critical part in driving cash flow by overseeing complex billing arrangements resolving invoicing discrepancies and executing proactive accounts receivable collection strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply complex customer contracts and pricing schedules to ensure accurate billing.
Prepare and issue invoices in accordance with contractual obligations and service deliverables.
Work closely with operations and sales teams to resolve billing-related questions or disputes.
Monitor the accounts receivable ledger to identify outstanding debts and aging receivables.
Initiate and lead collections efforts including follow-up communications dispute resolution and escalation when appropriate.
Reconcile customer accounts and apply payments accurately and promptly.
Maintain accurate billing and AR records in ERP and financial systems.
Support monthly close activities including AR aging review revenue accruals and reporting.
Assist with internal and external audit requests related to billing and accounts receivable.
Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance billing accuracy and collection efficiency.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
2 years of experience in billing and accounts receivable preferably in a complex contract or project-based environment.
Strong understanding of billing systems A/R processes and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; aviation experience a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
