Job Description

Athletic Director Role Description

Position Overview

  • The Athletic Director in a Legionary school has the mission of integrally forming (academically humanly spiritually and apostolically) the students participating in the schools athletic program.

  • The Athletic Director is responsible for the formation training and supervision of all Athletic Department personnel and volunteers ensuring that to teach one or more of the subjects of the approved National Consultants for Education program of education to his/her students. The teacher encourages assesses monitors and records the progress of individual students.

Qualifications

The Athletic Director should meet the following qualifications:

  • University education degree with post-graduate degree preferred
  • Valid teaching license
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Skill for transmitting knowledge and to stimulate a desire to learn in students
  • Excellent social qualities
  • Firm and kind character
  • Capacity for managing groups
  • Practicing Catholic with an excellent moral reputation and apostolic zeal for working for the Church
  • Honest and faithful to the school

Specific Responsibilities

  • Team Management (5th-12th gr) Registration Formation Fee Collection Game/Practice Scheduling
  • Athlete Eligibility Assessment Compliance Documentation
  • League Relationship (TAPPS DPL) Compliance Registration Tappster/Doodlio Administration; Interface
  • Personnel Management Hiring on boarding employment contracts supervision evaluation (coaches bus drivers)
  • Bus Management Scheduling Third Party Relationship Management Maintenance
  • Athletic Facility Management Scheduling Espace administration setup Equipment management
  • Spirit Wear Sales Third Party relationship management online shops inventory management design coordination
  • Event Management Concessions Game Administrator Gate keeping Scorekeeping Referee Scheduling Referee relationship management athletic trainer scheduling athletic training relationship management season pass sales reserved seating management
  • Purchasing Athletic equipment and supplies Concessions equipment and supplies Uniforms Facilities management equipment Game management equipment
  • Formation Core team member sport Leader training and execution coach mentoring
  • Website Manager Content manager Web designer.
  • Volunteer Coordinator scheduling and training

Reporting Structure
