The Lead Engineer will provide engineering and technical expertise for transportation and installation scopes focusing on onshore pipeline installation and associated works within plant areas. Responsibilities include preparing installation engineering procedures overseeing pipeline design managing vendor documentation and coordinating with project stakeholders. The role may involve studies tenders and live projects with work carried out onshore or offshore as required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with project engineering and supply chain teams.
- Support contractor selection through technical bid evaluations.
- Prepare review and manage documentation for pipeline installation excavations crossings culverts supports and nearshore reclamation.
- Perform and review design analyses in accordance with industry codes client specifications and project requirements.
- Produce and check design deliverables including reports specifications and material take-offs.
- Plan and track scope of work within project schedules.
- Organize constructability sessions and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Monitor contractor progress and compliance.
- Follow up on design fabrication testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure traceability of technical development throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with clients subcontractors and internal teams for timely execution.
- Ensure risk assessments work permits and statutory approvals are in place.
- Prepare progress reports KPIs and close-out documentation.
- Lead small engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Propose safe and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Operate within standardized engineering processes and ensure quality compliance.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering.
- 12 years of oil and gas industry experience with at least 3 years leading onshore pipeline installation projects.
- Experience in pipeline installation crossings and reclamation works.
- Experience with ARAMCO or Qatar projects preferred.
- Installation analysis knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong leadership communication and time management skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Willing to travel to onshore/offshore sites and work extended hours when needed.
