Job Summary
Sow Farm Manager
Located in Garland NC
Full-Time position with excellent benefits package
Requirements: Minimum 6 months in current position.
Breeding and Farrowing certified preferred.
Must have recommendations of production manager and satisfactory evaluations and attendance records.
No written warnings within the last 6 months. Knowledge of all aspects of production.
ADA Requirements:Ability to lift 50 pounds bend walk stoop and bend. Ability to speak hear read and write.
SUMMARY: Responsibilities include total operation of a company sow farm including training/developing employees implementing corporate personnel/procedural policies land and nutrient management controlling operating costs providing an overall quality product to the farms customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Manage all activities/processes related to farm management and operations. Schedules/perform according to all standard procedures and policies set out by company technical manuals.
Manages financial performance by controlling costs budgeting business and financial planning and tracking financial activity via P&L review.
Plans sets and Monitors goals then communicates results to production manager.
Develop subordinates by leading planning (short and long term) managing coaching always mentoring and providing a positive professional image.
Ensures all staff move through the Training and Certification process.
Establish and maintain open communication with all farm staff management other departments external customers and suppliers and the local community to identify potential problems and initiate improvements.
Manages and administers all Human Resources/employee relations functions relating to farm management such as compensation benefits records vacation performance reviews etc.
Ensures the operation is functioning in an environmentally responsible way by adhering to all EMS requirements and practicing approved land and nutrient management techniques. Functions as a company steward of resources.
Ensures that the farm-working environment is safe by providing safety equipment training and actions to prevent hazardous conditions by meeting DOL/OSHA rules and regulations.
Ensures all equipment machinery and vehicles are accounted for and properly maintained.
Responsible for complying with all environmental laws and procedures to which Murphy Family Ventures subscribes.
Performs all other activities and responsibilities as defined by manager.
