An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified and experienced HR Practitioner that will support our client in the retail and wholesaler sector and its associated companies with the delivery of the HR portfolio within the business for our client in Cape Town.
Requirements
Role Description/ Key Result Areas
- Provide consulting support to the business on all related human resources policies and procedures
- Deliver seamless HR Administration support to the business aligned with best practice
- Review refine and reengineer HR processes to ensure alignment with HR best practice
- Support the development of the HR plan and ensure delivery against the plan
- Developing revising and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Ensuring HR programs and services follow established policies and procedures and relevant legal requirements
- Drive the performance management process in the business
- Conducting audits of HR activities to ensure compliance
- Providing inputs as required for Company Audits
- Assist from time to time to manage the monthly and weekly payroll process and ensure that all documentation is submitted on time
- Preparing and maintaining employee files and contracts as well as records related to recruitment transfers and terminations
- Facilitate onboarding of new employees and their induction
- Support the business with any employment and industrial relations issues
- Preparation of HR Dashboard items such as tracking of leave balances EE targets etc
- Input into monthly/quarterly HR reports
- Manage the full recruitment process
- Conduct training sessions on HR Policies or HR related matters where necessary
- Skills Development (SD) facilitator through effective SD reporting and maintaining records of employee participation in all training and development programs
- Developing updating and maintaining job descriptions
- Preparation and submission of Employment Equity (EE) Skills Development COIDA reports and submission requirements which may include engagement with Department of Labour where necessary
- Manage all OHS and other legislative requirements and claims in relation to workmen s compensation
- EE Facilitator role and ensuring mobilisation of EE Committee
Requirements:
- Extensive HR Administration specialist experience within a Retail and/or Manufacturing environment with a focus on providing guidance on all aspects of HR.
- Relevant B. Degree or tertiary qualification in Human Resources.
- A post graduate qualification in Industrial Psychology/Human Resources will be an advantage
- Sound knowledge and application of HR Practices and Processes as well as HR Policy review and implementation
- Strong knowledge of SA legislation and impacts on workplace practices such as BCEA LRA OHS WCA etc
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage at all levels
- Proficiency in English and any other official languages would be an added advantage.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to drive the HR priorities in the business
- Must have strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of employment laws and practices.
- Excellent relationship building skills and an effective team player
- Must be meticulous with a strong eye for detail.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt as new priorities come up
- A valid South African Driver s license will be a requirement
