Job Description

The Opportunity

Join a leading engineering firm as a field service technician where you will hone your skills in PLC SCADA and troubleshooting!

Is this you

You are a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge in PLC and Scada systems with proven experience as a Field Service Technician and a knack for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. You enjoy working independently while also interacting with clients and ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency. Your ability to communicate clearly and provide top-notch customer support will be key to excelling in this role and being physically fit comfortable with various environments and willing to travel as needed will be to your benefit.

What youll be doing (and why youll enjoy it)

In this dynamic role you will be responsible for the installation configuration and maintenance of equipment at customer locations. Youll perform routine maintenance troubleshoot and repair systems ensuring optimal equipment performance. Regular communication with clients to understand their needs and provide product support will be part of your daily duties. You will also be involved in training customers on equipment best practices and safety procedures. The role includes building electric panels and maintaining accurate service records providing a balance of hands-on technical work and client interaction.

What youll need

To be successful in this role you should hold as a minimum a N4 qualification in Electric or Instrumentation and proven experience as a Field Service Technician. You need to be skilled in PLC and Scada systems with excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work independently while managing your time efficiently. A valid drivers licence and willingness to travel for site visits are required. Candidates with experience in electric panel building and fault-finding will be highly regarded.
