DevOps Architect, AWS Professional Services

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled DevOps Architect to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role youll work closely with customers to design implement and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. Youll be a key player in driving customer success through their cloud journey providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services as a DevOps Architect you will be proficient in architecting complex scalable and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. Youll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements assess current infrastructure and propose effective migration strategies to AWS. As trusted advisors to our customers providing guidance on industry trends emerging technologies and innovative solutions you will be responsible for leading the implementation process ensuring adherence to best practices optimizing performance and managing risks throughout the project.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage large projects or smaller engagements independently using your business and technical skills

- Deliver best practices recommendations and highly technical implementations with cross-product integrations based on customer needs

- Share best practices with customers of all sizes on the value proposition of and conduct one-to-few and one-to-many workshop sessions to transfer knowledge to customers

- Build deep relationships with our customers across the board and become a technical advisor solving complex challenges

- Write or otherwise contribute to customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blog posts

- Work with the professional services leadership team to hire develop train and promote the practice

- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders (technical or non-technical)
- Strong hands-on experience building CI/CD workflows and using scripting languages (one or more languages e.g. Python Java JavaScript C# Go PowerShell)
- Excellent experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Cloudformation...)
- Strong experience with automation tools

- Hands-on experience with software deployment and orchestration technologies e.g. CloudFormation Terraform Docker Kubernetes Chef Puppet Salt Ansible in production environments
- Hands-on experience with serverless technologies Hands-on experience with continuous services like Code Deploy Jenkins Bamboo and Artifactory
- Understanding of microservices and distributed architecture
- AWS Developer and Engineer certified or similar certifications or equivalent practical experience
