CARE Zimbabwe is seeking a dedicated Logistics Officer to ensure effective and efficient logistics operations that support our humanitarian programs. This role is critical for coordinating the movement of goods and services ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a commitment to improving logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Logistics Coordination
o Manage the planning and execution of logistics operations including transportation warehousing and inventory management.
o Coordinate the delivery of goods and services to program sites in a timely manner.
2. Supply Chain Management
o Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
o Maintain accurate records of logistics activities ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
3. Vendor and Stakeholder Management
o Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure quality service delivery.
o Collaborate with program teams to assess logistics needs and provide necessary support.
4. Monitoring and Reporting
o Track logistics performance metrics and prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders.
o Identify and resolve logistics challenges to enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications :
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management preferably in an international development context.
Skills:
o Strong knowledge of logistics principles and practices.
o Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Competencies
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical logistics practices.
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
