Job Description

The Stores Clerk is responsible for the efficient management of stock and supplies within the transport operations. This includes receiving recording issuing and safeguarding parts tools and consumables used in the maintenance and operation of the transport fleet.

Salary:

Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Receive inspect and record incoming deliveries of parts and consumables.
  • Issue stock items to workshop and operations teams as per requisitions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and movements.
  • Update stock control systems and generate reports when required.
  • Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Ensure proper storage labelling and organisation of all stock items.
  • Liaise with suppliers for stock deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the stores area.

Key Skills:

  • At least 2 years experience in a stores or inventory control role (transport sector an advantage).
  • Good knowledge of stock management procedures and documentation.
  • Computer literate working knowledge of inventory software or MS Excel.
  • Organised detail-oriented and dependable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
