We are looking for a Wheel Alignment Technician for an automotive retail company in Zambia.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-alignment inspections of tyres suspension components (e.g. shock absorbers struts mountings) steering linkages and ride heights.
- Identify worn or damaged parts that may affect alignment and recommend necessary repairs or replacements to the customer or service advisor.
- Listen to customer concerns and road test vehicles to understand reported handling issues (e.g. pulling uneven tyre wear steering wheel off-center).
- Operate specialized equipment to assess and identify issues with wheel alignment including measuring angles like caster camber and toe.
- Interpret alignment reports to identify necessary adjustments to the suspension and steering components to correct alignment problems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tyres suspension and steering systems to identify potential issues and ensure overall vehicle safety.
- Communicate technical information clearly to customers explaining alignment issues and recommended repairs or services.
- Provide a detailed report of the alignment work performed including the before and after measurements and any adjustments made.
- Conduct post-alignment checks to verify that all adjustments meet manufacturer specifications.
- Perform final road tests to confirm improved handling straight-line tracking and customer satisfaction.
- Explain alignment results and any further recommendations to customers clearly and professionally.
- Identify and pursue additional sales opportunities where appropriate.
- Perform routine maintenance calibration and repairs of wheel alignment equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory supplies and equipment maintenance schedules for audit purposes.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions or breakdowns of alignment equipment.
- Adhere to relevant safety protocols and regulations related to workshop and wheel alignment procedures and equipment operation.
- Participate in stock takes of relevant store stock parts and tools.
Key Skills:
- At least 3 years experience following technical assessment in conjunction with the completion and certification of relevant accredited training.
- Proficiency in operating computerised alignment equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Solid understanding of vehicle suspension and steering systems.
- Skilled in diagnostics and adjustment techniques.
- Ability to interpret alignment readings accurately.
- Knowledge of various vehicle types (cars light trucks SUVs).
- General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Analytical & problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent customer / Service orientation.
- Good Communication skills to explain complex technical issues to customers.

Qualifications:
- Ordinary Level Certificate.
- Trade Tested Motor Mechanic.
- Valid Driver s License.
- Additional relevant technical qualification will be an added advantage.
