Job Description
Our client a leading player in the mineral processing sector is seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Project Engineer to join their dynamic project team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a highpaced environment and has a strong background in mechanical engineering within heavy industry or mineral processing plants.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects from concept through to commissioning
- Oversee the design specification and procurement of mechanical equipment and systems
- Ensure all engineering activities are aligned with project timelines budgets and quality standards
- Coordinate with crossfunctional teams including process civil and electrical engineers
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
- Prepare and review engineering documentation including specifications datasheets and reports
- Ensure compliance with safety health and environmental standards throughout project execution
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5 years of relevant project engineering experience in mineral processing mining or heavy industrial environments
- Proven track record in managing mechanical projects from design to completion
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment
- Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel to project and plant sites as required
