Job Description

Job Title: MidSnr Digital Design Lead
Experience Level: 10 Years
Location: Cape Town

About the Role

Were looking for a Digital Design Lead a conceptual thinker skilled craftsperson and strong team leader who can elevate both the creative product and the people behind it. Youll be responsible for guiding the design team in producing bestinclass digital work with a focus on creativity clarity and craft.

Working closely with creative directors copywriters account leads and project managers youll drive the visual execution of ideas from concept to delivery ensuring every piece of work not only looks exceptional but delivers strategically and aligns with the brands tone and positioning.

This is a role that combines handson design with team management creative direction and a deep understanding of digital platforms and brand storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and elevate creative concepts under the guidance of the Head of Design.
  • Lead and mentor the design team providing direction feedback and support to produce impactful insightdriven creative.
  • Develop and present big ideas to internal teams and clients using compelling storytelling techniques and visual language.
  • Own the visual execution of campaigns and digital assets ensuring consistency quality and alignment with brand strategy.
  • Translate concepts into designs that work across digital platforms from websites and social media to campaign materials and interactive experiences.
  • Be a key point of contact for Account and Project Management teams helping to ensure projects run smoothly and on brief.
  • Drive the development of branded design systems UI components and digital guidelines as needed.
  • Stay up to date with design trends technologies and digital best practices and apply this knowledge to enhance creative output.

What Were Looking For:

  • 10 years of experience in digital design with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Proven ability to take concepts through to beautiful functional design across a range of digital formats.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing digital campaigns UI work and conceptual thinking.
  • Highlevel skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma (or similar tools).
  • Solid understanding of usercentered design layout composition typography and interaction design.
  • Appreciation and understanding of branding and art direction.
  • Experience leading teams and working collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills you know how to make the work sing and get buyin from stakeholders.
  • Confident proactive and calm under pressure with the ability to manage multiple projects without compromising quality.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in motion or animation (After Effects Lottie etc.).
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript (not required to code but helpful in collaboration).
  • Background working in agile or fastpaced creative environments.
