Job Title: Epoxy Flooring Installer / Applicator
Reports To: Site Supervisor or Project Manager
Location: Pretoria
Purpose of the Role:
The Epoxy Flooring Installer is responsible for the professional preparation application and finishing of epoxy and other resinous floor coatings. The role ensures highquality workmanship adherence to safety standards and client satisfaction on all flooring projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation:
- Assess and clean concrete surfaces to ensure proper adhesion.
- Repair cracks joints and damaged sections of flooring.
- Grind sandblast or shotblast surfaces where required.
- Mixing and Application:
- Accurately mix epoxy and other resin systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Apply primers base coats top coats and sealers using tools such as rollers trowels or squeegees.
- Install nonslip additives flakes or decorative finishes as required.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor curing times surface consistency and finish quality.
- Identify and resolve surface imperfections bubbles or delamination issues.
- Health & Safety:
- Follow company and site safety protocols including PPE usage.
- Handle and dispose of chemical materials safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Liaise with site supervisors and project managers regarding progress and challenges.
- Provide feedback on material performance and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of epoxy polyurethane MMA or other resinbased flooring systems.
- Proficiency in using floor preparation and application equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction and site safety.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in epoxy or industrial flooring installation. - Education:
Matric (Grade 12) preferred. Relevant training or certification in resin flooring advantageous. - Drivers License:
Valid Code 8/10 license preferred (for travel to sites). - Certifications (optional):
- Safe Use of Epoxy Resins
- Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing to travel to different project sites.
- Work involves exposure to dust chemicals and noise.
- Requires occasional weekend or overtime work depending on project timelines.
