Job Description

FRAIL CARE GENERAL MANAGER / MATRON
(Registered Nurse)

The successful person will be a registered nurse experienced in managing a frail care centre / old aged home.

The Frail Care General Manager / Matron will manage a staff (Registered Nurses and Trained Caregivers) working a day and night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all residents in the old aged home and care centre are receiving holistic care in respect of their physical psychological and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Responsible for administration and new admissions of frail care
  • Direct responsibility for maintaining occupancy and service levels of the Frail Care
  • Maintaining and being abreast with all nursing policies and procedures
  • Reputation management.
  • Actively manage Frail Care procedures and standards (for example bed statistics etc.) and policies for the highest quality assurance
  • Management of nursing staffs leave absenteeism and timekeeping

Desired Skills:

  • Skilled in MS Office Word
  • Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Management of nursing staffs leave absenteeism and timekeeping

Desired Work Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years as a Matron / General Manager

Desired Accreditations:

  • South African Nursing Association
  • South African Nursing Council
