Join our client as a Merchandise Planner
They are a leading omni-channel retailer with over 30 stores across South Africa and a rapidly growing e-commerce footprint.
As one of the Merchandise Planners youll own the planning lifecycle across both physical and digital channels. Youll work closely with the buying team to balance inventory risk capitalize on trends and drive commercial outcomes.
Key focus areas:
- Build and maintain merchandise plans aligned to sales profit and stock turn targets.
- Forecast demand using historical sales promotional calendars market trends and AI planning tools.
- Optimize allocations and replenishments by channel and location to match sales.
- Monitor in-season performance and make agile data-led trading decisions.
- Partner with buyers to identify top sellers underperformers and category gaps.
- Leverage tools like Netstock Excel Power BI and other AI-powered systems to automate reporting run what-if simulations and conduct SKU rationalization.
- Present planning insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
Were looking for someone who combines precision commercial instinct and a strong trader mentality a planner who can manage detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
In addition:
- A degree in Business Supply Chain or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of merchandise planning experience in retail (preferably omni-channel).
- Mastery of Excel forecasting tools planning systems (Netstock experience is a bonus).
- Experience using AI for demand planning replenishment and workflow automation.
- Strong commercial acumen you understand the impact of your decisions on stock turn margin and customer experience.
- A high sense of ownership urgency and proactive communication skills.
- A passion for customers and delivering retail magic.
